Frequently Asked Questions:

We've had a few people ask us some of the same questions during this journey so we thought we would put together this list of FAQs in case you're interested. If you have a question for us, please reach out on Instagram - we'll do our best to get back to you.
1. Do you ever go home?
Yes and No. Over the past 2 years we’ve been back twice to the States to visit family at the holidays and attend a few weddings. We don’t currently have one place that we call "home," what we have kept of our things we are storing in California where we continue to pay taxes. We can truly say that once you get the travel bug and lifestyle going, its hard to go back and live a more traditional life but we're not sure what's in store for the future.
2. How do you pay for this?
Both of us are independent contractors and we have shifted our client work to be mobile. Christina continues to work in custom research at Elia Intel; Julio is a music producer and teaches Yoga philosophy. For more information, see our About Us section.
3. Are you staying in hostels? How can you afford all these hotels?
To borrow a term from our friend Polo, we travel like Ballers on a Budget. The quick answer is, we like to be mindful of what we are spending on but we also like some comforts – we are no longer in our 20s and having working Internet is a must. We mostly stay in 3*** hotels and guesthouses or rent an AirBnB. Have a look at our individual posts to see where we recommend to stay and check out our Travel Tips article that details how to find the best hotel deals if you're interested.
4. Why are you doing this?
When we first met 17 years ago, we were both idealistic and full of dreams. The years passed and while we both took our turns as entrepreneurs, business people, teachers and humanitarians we definitely were beginning to feel stifled by the options back home. As most people in our age group started to settle down, we dug deeper into our personal questions of who we are and why we are truly here. We were reminded of the big, crazy dreams we had in our early 20s and had a recognition that with the Internet we could now be global and jump back in. We took a leap of faith and feel more in alignment with those dreams than ever before. The path is unraveling before us and we have learned so much about ourselves and the world. Please have a look at our Intention page for more information. We plan to use our adventures to inform our next big project which is coming soon.
5. Do you give back?
We give money along the way to organizations and individuals in need. We also just launched our first social venture, Didi Darling, which is an accessories company that gives back 20% of profits to UN Women. We are planning to put our global experiences and knowledge to work in the near future. This blog is part of sharing that story and building our foundation. If you are interested in keeping up to date with what we do next, please join our list here.
6. Where are you going next?
We have lots of places on our list and as time and budget permits we will continue to travel. We don’t have a set itinerary right now and are really doing this in the flow, so to speak. Keep up to date with us by joining our list here if you’re interested or follow along on Instagram.
7. Can we work with you?
Yes, we are interested in hearing about potential opportunities to write about and feature your city, brand or product if they are in line with our mission. Please contact us here.
8. How do I do this for myself?
Glad you asked! We were inspired to do this by our friends Greg & Ian, a couple who went on a 6-month global adventure. We hope that our travels (and blog) has inspired you to get out there and explore as well. The Goats on the Road, among other blogs, do a great job of explaining how to turn travel into a lifestyle if you are interested. If you are interested in starting a blog, that also is very possible - click here to get started.
9. How can I "go with the flow" when it comes to traveling?
This is a big question and it's not always easy to answer. Basically, you have to surrender your ego in order for magical synchronicity to happen. Also, if you look with a lens of Love and appreciation on the world and her people things will inevitably start to flow. We hope to write an article on this soon - check back in the near future for more.
10. I have questions on travel planning – how can I get in touch with you?
Please see our Travel Tips section for more information on travel planning. If you still want to get in touch, please contact us here. We are happy to answer questions but please be mindful that we may take some time to get back to you. Thanks for understanding!
