Singapore

julio

A city from the future, Singapore is a banking hub of Asia with an upscale and sterling appearance, mazes of malls and indoor food vendors around every corner. Conformist and efficient to the max, spitting and gum chewing are punishable offenses although the only law enforcement you see are cameras everywhere. The buildings and infrastructure are beyond impressive. We spent time exploring Gardens by the Bay, which houses two of the worlds largest biospheres and was an incredible place to visit. One biosphere was a flower park and the other an indoor cloud forest. Nothing quite prepares you for the sheer magnitude and money that was spent to create these marvels. We also had a chance to visit the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands (the huge white lotus building) that had a few experiential and tech-heavy playful exhibits along with a touring exhibition of MC Escher

FOOD FACTS: The agricultural production in Singapore is not enough to deliver to the needs of the country's people, and as such, about 90 percent of the country's food comes from overseas imports, making food safety an issue of high note.
